Queer Meet-ups

Next Event: Wednesday 26 June 2024

Join us for drinks in the beer garden of The Old Castle Green, in Old Market from 7 pm on Wednesday 26 June, to celebrate the start of Pride fortnight in Bristol.

Free entry as always, and everyone is welcome. We have the outdoor area under cover reserved for our use, so even if it rains, we're covered.

QM @ Hope & Anchor

After an extended winter break that went on longer than anticipated, we came back for the summer with a visit to a new venue for us. Thanks to landlord Flick for great hospitality and a bumper group of us enjoyed an evening in the beer garden.

Dining event

When we re-launched Members as QM back in 2022, we mentioned that we'd be trying different types of events to complement our regular monthly midweek drinks events and we've held a couple of outdoor Sunday afternoon drinks events since then. To continue this trend, we held the first of a casual series of dining events, at The Phoenix for their amazing Sunday lunch in October 2023.

Impromptu Meet-up

A one-off impromptu event announced at very short notice (due to our lack of planning ahead) on a rainy October evening in Old Market brought a predictably low turnout but those of us who were there enjoyed landlord Steve's hospitality and we hope to return for a better organised event next year.

Late Summer Meet-up

Late August, time to say goodbye to the summer that never was, as we returned to The Phoenix, near Cabot Circus.

A large group of us enjoyed the last of the warm evenings. Until next summer...

QM @ Totos By The River

We once again returned to Totos in late July, in the hope of taking advantage of the sunny terrace by the river. Alas, the Great British weather had other ideas and we moved inside for the evening, for what was an enjoyable evening with a great turnout, given the inclement conditions.

QM @ St George's Bristol

Another Sunday afternoon and a fabulous turnout, saw a large group of us enjoy the warm sunny weather, under the shade of the big tree in St George's garden.

With the jazz band playing in the background, it was the perfect way to kick off Pride fortnight in Bristol.

QM @ The Old Castle Green

Our first event of 2023, kicking off a great summer on a warm late May evening. A great turnout saw us share the beer garden with QPOC - the Queer People of Colour social group.

Our first visit to Mike Coe's bar and it certainly won't be the last. Thanks to all who came along to make this a success.

QM @ The Lost & Found

We spent pre-Halloween Thursday at the sumptuous Lost & Found in Clifton Triangle. A spooky evening indeed with a small band of us braving the elements and the ghastly ghouls rushing around Bristol to enjoy the L&F's generous cocktail offers while enjoying the company of QM regulars. Our last event of 2022. See you on the other side!

QM @ Totos By The River

Autumnal weather meant we didn't get to experience the riverside terrace on this occasion, but maybe we'll return here next summer for late evening drinks event on the terrace, when conditions are better suited.

Thanks to those who made it to the event, where we were unexpectedly given the upstairs bar all to ourselves.

QM @ The Phoenix

Our busiest evening yet, under the QM brand.

A lovely warm August evening saw a large QM contingent take over the popular terrace at The Phoenix.

It was great to see so many old and new faces mixing together and even interacting with some of the locals who shared the space with us.

QM @ St George's Gin Garden

To celebrate Bristol Pride, a large group of us met up at the final St George's Gin Garden session of the summer in the grounds of this magnificent building. The weather could not have been any more different to our launch event, with blazing hot sunshine making us gather under the huge canopy of trees, ensuring a cooling gin cocktail could be enjoyed in a more bearable temperature.

QM @ Brown & Bye

The new era of QMBristol has begun, with a launch night at Brown & Bye on Bristol's Harbourside on June 29th 2022.

The great British weather did its best to thwart us, along with a mini covid outbreak among some of regulars, but thanks to the hardy souls who were determined to make it, we had a very successful evening.

After Brown & Bye a smaller group of us ventured to Loose Cannon for one last Quirky Mojito before heading home.
